Changes in our environment

These past few days Garfields and Piolines have been introduced to Autumn.

It’s finally here, Autumn makes us really excited because it’s time for Halloween and Castanyada.

We have been stamping apples using Autumn colours, we have prepared pumpkins, we have learnt about snails, the wind, the changes of weather and we have visited the woods to experience Autumn.

All these activities helped us understand a bit more about the changes in our environment and also about our feelings, friendship and cooperation.

Pinwheels for peace

Infant school students were involved in an initiative called Pinwheels for peace today as part of the celebration of International Peace Day. Peace one day is a non profit organization founded in 1999 that believes in building peace one day at a time. Our preschool students are still too young to understand what peace means, but they are learning to become good friends and be nice to each other; and to do so we have been working on a few Essential Agreements that will help us be respectful to one another and make the most of each day at school.

The  Sky class (Tintins & Scoobies) talked about what peace and friendship means and then worked in teams to create some lovely and very big pinwheels that will be displayed on the wall next to the playground. The Jungle class (Garfields & Piolines) listened to the story «Un conte de la pau» and also created lovely big pinwheels in small groups. Please take a look at these photos!

Celebrem Sant Jordi!

On april 1st, the deputy head of our school came to talk to us about «la Matança del porc» and how we can make different kinds of sausages from pigs which live on the farm.He told us about the different types of meat from the pig which is used, and then how to season the sausage to make it last a long time.

He shared with us lots of pictures of his family and friends to show how the sausages are made, as well as showing us how to make wine from grapes.

Thank you very much Jordi!

Easter egg hunt

El pase de diapositivas requiere JavaScript.

Patufets and Peter Pans have had a great time learning about Easter celebrations. We read Easter egg hunting stories in our weekly library session and enjoyed wearing our Easter bunny ears to practice hopping around in the playground. We made beautiful easter baskets and went on a very fun Easter egg hunt.

Garfields and Piolines went on an Easter eggs hunt. The Easter bunny gave then chocolate Easter eggs as a reward for their great second term.

Scoobies and Tintins made very creative Easter eggs using plasticine, they look great.Take a look at the photos!!

Happy Easter!!

St. Patrick’s Day

P5 celebrated St. Patrick’s day working together as a group class on a collaborative rainbow project and each one of the kids will be taking a piece of it home.

P4 learned the story about St. Patrick’s day and the magic pot of gold, and they created an art piece that represents a rainbow.

P3 enjoyed listening to this fun irish song about St. Patrick’s day and worked on a small art project to draw a rainbow with paint. Making the small leprechaun hop from one rainbow color to the next was a great opportunity to review colors. Take a look at our photos!!

Li farem cas, doncs ella ens estarà observant.

Valentine’s day heart exchange!

Last Friday, Patufets and Peter Pans exchanged  Valentine’s day cards and  warm hugs to celebrate their friendship. Each one of the cards had a special drawing and children really enjoyed delivering the sweet surprise to their friends in the other classroom.

¡Carnaval, carnaval…!
