Llibres per Sant Jordi!

Hola pares,

LLIBRES PELS NOSTRES PETITS

ENGLISH BOOK LIST FOR P3-P4-P5

LLIBRES PER TREBALLAR VALORS AMB ELS NOSTRES PETITS

Happy Easter parents!

Bones Vacances!

¡Felices Vacaciones!

The Day of Happiness

19 March 2015, P4 and P5 added to their international mindedness by experiencing another worldwide celebration. The Day of Happiness.

They shared a visti to the library where they talked about things that make people happy. They heard some stories about happy children and they learned that hugs, kisses, family and sharing with friends make us all happy.

St. Patrick’s Day!

Patufets and Peter Pans celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by watching and singing along to this lovely song and discovered what a Leprechaun is. Then we painted a rainbow and decorated a shamrock with green tissue paper balls. Enjoy playing with the Little Leprechaun

that’s attached to the art work and  make it jump  from one color to another! Have fun!

Within the PYP Unit Celebrations, Garfields and Piolines have been preparing rainbows and have learned that there’s a little man called leprechaun who lives at the end of the rainbow.

Here is the new challenge, find the end of each rainbow to see if they find the pot full of gold hahaha.

In P5 we have talked about the origin of St. Patrick’s Day. We have sang a song about the history of St. Patrick’s and we have found Ireland in the map.  We know that you have to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day!   And, did you know what the difference between a Shamrock and four leave clover is?     Hint:  one has 3 leaves and the other has 4 and guides you to the pot of Gold!

Chinese New Year celebrations

These days, Garfields and Piolines have been learning about Chinese New Year celebrations. Thanks to the story of Nian, the Chinese dragon, now they know why everything is covered in red and why Chinese people fires fireworks every New Year.

Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day is about celebrating all kinds of love, and we are sure you will agree that  friendship is a wonderful  manifestation of love that certainly brings our school community together.

After reading about how this date is celebrated on our weekly library lesson, Peter Pans and Patufets exchanged personalized heart shaped messages with beautiful drawings to put into practice one of the ten attributes of the learner profile, being caring. They also demonstrated appreciation for each other and their developing friendship embracing in a warm hug.

We have learned Valentine’s day is celebrated in countries all across the world. The P3’s, P4’s and P5’s have been making various crafts in preparation for Saturday the 14th, here are some photographs of their work.

Continuing with the very exciting and festive preparations for Christmas, this week the Garfield’s and Piolines were greeted by a very special visitor. Mr Prata came to visit us in Infantil to tell us all about how Christmas is celebrated in Argentina and South Africa.

This assembly was the perfect way to further our understanding of the PYP unit ‘Celebrations’ which we have enjoyed studying this term. We loved to learn about how other children and families, like our own, celebrate the holidays, we learned about traditions such as preparing crackers and crowns also the Boxing Day. We really loved Mr Prata’s presentation, and learning about other international celebrations across the world.
